As of Spring 2023, the SNAC Editorial Policy and Standards Working Group recommends that all editors of SNAC records follow the guidance of the Trans Metadata Collective’s Metadata Best Practices for Trans and Gender Diverse Resources with regards to name authority records for trans people.
Users who come upon SNAC records that include inappropriate or former names for trans people should contact SNAC Administrators. A SNAC editor will adjust the records as soon as possible. Following corrections in SNAC we will endeavor to contact the original contributing repository (if applicable) and relay the requested changes.
